Volcano at Siam Park Tenerife

Hidden among the lush greenery of Siam Park in Costa Adeje, the Volcano slide is one of the park’s most mysterious and thrilling rides. Known officially as the Siam Park Volcano slide, this dark-tube attraction combines speed, sudden drops, and a dramatic finale that leaves most riders screaming with surprise.

Unlike the open-air spectacle of Kinnaree or the high-speed curves of Singha, Volcano offers something different: a ride through total darkness, where you never quite know what’s coming next.

What makes Volcano unique?

The Volcano slide is a group raft attraction, designed for up to four people. The ride begins with a fast descent through a long, twisting enclosed tube. Once inside, the darkness takes over, there are no views, no way of knowing which direction you’ll turn next, and only the rush of water to guide you.

The real surprise comes at the end. The raft suddenly shoots out into a wide, funnel-shaped chamber, the “volcano” itself, where riders swirl around in circles before being pulled down into the centre. The effect is dramatic, disorienting, and completely different from any other slide in the park.

Visitors often describe Volcano as one of the scariest rides, not because of the speed or height, but because of the uncertainty. As one rider put it:

“You don’t know when the drops are coming. It’s pitch black, and then suddenly you’re spinning inside the volcano. It’s terrifying but so much fun.”

The ride experience

From the moment your raft launches, you’re plunged into total darkness. The tube twists and turns unpredictably, making it impossible to brace yourself for what’s next. Every corner feels like it could be a drop, and the uncertainty creates an intensity that riders either love or fear.

When the raft bursts into the volcano chamber, the sensation changes completely. You’re suddenly in an enormous space, swinging around the walls in circles while water sprays all around you. The ride then pulls you down into the centre, ending with a splash that leaves everyone laughing and wide-eyed.

On our visits, we found Volcano to be one of the most surprising rides. Even after riding it multiple times, the darkness keeps it unpredictable, and the swirling motion in the volcano chamber is an experience you don’t forget.

Height and safety restrictions

The Volcano is designed for groups of 2–4 riders. Solo riders are not allowed. The minimum height to ride is 1.25 metres (4 ft 1 in).

Because the ride takes place in complete darkness and ends with a swirling motion in the funnel, it may not be suitable for very young children or anyone who is uncomfortable with enclosed spaces. Lifeguards are always on duty to ensure safety and to assist riders entering and exiting the rafts.

Tips from our visits

Queues for Volcano are usually shorter than for Tower of Power or Singha, making it a good option when other rides are busy. Because the ride is dark and disorienting, it’s best to sit with people you’re comfortable with, the shared screams and laughter make the experience much more enjoyable.

It’s also one of the few rides where onlookers can’t see what’s happening inside, so if you want a surprise element during your day at Siam Park, Volcano is the one to try.
