Landmar Costa Los Gigantes

Without question, the most complete family hotel in Los Gigantes. During our inspection, we found six separate pools, a splash park, two buffet restaurants and a dedicated kids’ zone with supervised activities. Families we spoke to praised the animation staff for their energy and the spacious family suites with connecting rooms.

The resort sits just above Puerto de Santiago, a ten-minute walk downhill to the coast. Its large layout can mean a bit of walking between facilities, but the trade-off is space, shade and constant sea breeze.

Be Live Costa Los Gigantes

Formerly part of the same complex as Landmar, Be Live Costa Los Gigantes still offers a solid all-inclusive experience for families. Food options lean toward international buffets with themed nights, and the children’s area is one of the largest in the region.

Both hotels are ideal for travellers who want everything on site: pools, food and evening shows — without needing to drive.

Adults-Only & Couples’ Hotels

TUI Blue Los Gigantes

We stayed here for three nights in March 2025, and it’s hard to overstate how peaceful this hotel feels. The property is adults-only, meaning no children under 16, and it shows in the atmosphere: quiet pools, low background music, and uninterrupted ocean views from nearly every room.

The infinity pool faces west, on clear evenings, you can watch the sun dip behind La Gomera with a cocktail in hand. Breakfasts are generous and include local fruit, fresh juices and gluten-free options. Spa treatments (especially the volcanic stone massage) are among the best we tested on Tenerife’s west coast.

Royal Sun Resort

This hotel impressed us the most for its views. Each apartment-style suite has a private terrace larger than many hotel rooms with loungers, a dining table and unobstructed views of the ocean and cliffs. From the terrace, we even spotted pilot whales one calm morning around 10 a.m.

Service is discreet but efficient, and the on-site restaurant “Regency” serves one of the better à-la-carte breakfasts in the area. The resort sits higher up the hill, so the walk to the harbour is steep; most guests use taxis or rent a car.

Barceló Santiago

Located just outside the town, Barceló Santiago blends resort comfort with design flair. Its infinity pool faces directly towards Los Gigantes cliffs, and rooms were recently refurbished in soft neutral tones.

Guests we interviewed appreciated the quality of the spa therapists and the chef’s tasting menu, which reinterprets Canarian dishes with local ingredients. It’s quieter than typical resort hotels, ideal for couples and solo travellers who prefer understated luxury.

Apartments & Self-Catering Options

El Sombrero Apartments

A long-standing favourite among repeat visitors, El Sombrero offers spacious studios and one-bedroom apartments, each with its own terrace or balcony. We checked a few rooms, all were simple but spotless. The central location means you can walk to the harbour, restaurants and supermarkets within five minutes.

El Marqués & Oasis Los Gigantes

These apartment complexes are slightly smaller and more residential. Both have communal pools and views of the cliffs. They suit travellers planning longer stays who prefer cooking their own meals or remote working during winter.

Why We Recommend Staying in Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes isn’t a party town — and that’s its charm. It’s the kind of place where you wake up to ocean light, walk down for coffee by the harbour, and maybe take a whale-watching trip in the afternoon.

The black-sand beach, Playa de los Gigantes, is small but clean, and nearby trails like Masca Valley and Acantilados de los Gigantes make for stunning day hikes. Local restaurants such as Tipsy Terrace or The Harbour Club serve honest food at fair prices, with sea views that rival the island’s most exclusive venues.
