Scuba Diving

The Canary Islands is well-known for its excellent dive sites, and Puerto Rico has a thriving diving community that offers many types of activities. You can get PADI certified in any of the dive school here, and explore the shoreline of Puerto Rico from an underwater perspective. Those who would rather stay close to the surface can also go on a snorkeling excursion, where you can encounter the healthy marine life, but also venture out towards the many wrecks along the coast.

Anfi Tauro Golf

At the nearby Anfi Tauro Golf, golf enthusiasts or newbies can spend a day on the greens, practicing their swing or improving their handicaps. This golf course is located right outside Puerto Rico and is a stunning 18-hole course which also has a driving range for practicing. The course can be challenging for some players with less experience; however, it is such a well-designed course well worth the try.

Shopping Centre Puerto Rico

An open-air shopping center, here you can buy anything from clothes, leather goods, and souvenirs. However, it is crowded with bars and restaurants, so perhaps for some, it is less of a shopping place, but more of a hangout spot. The show is adults-only and not suitable for children, but it is an entertaining way to spend a night with friends if you want to go out for a laugh. Adult language is likely to be used, so it might not be the right place to take your in-laws unless they are on board with that.


Puerto Rico is about 48 kilometers away from the airport, so you have several ways to get there once you land. If you are looking to hire a car for your trip, you will find many car companies at the airport which will have fantastic offers at hand. Driving to Puerto Rico will probably take you a little over half an hour on the highway, and will be easy to find.

You have the option of pre-booking a shuttle that will take you from the airport straight to your hotel’s doorstep. Another option is to take a bus, which is also an economical choice, as it won’t set you back more than 6€ – however, you need to make sure you know the timetable upon arrival as this can change, especially on weekends or holidays. Lastly, you can always take a taxi if you prefer to travel in comfort. A cab from the airport to Puerto Rico will cost you around 60€ on average.
